HUMANISM- True ‘Worship’ to God

Humanism puts human beings at the centre. It concerns itself with the progress of everyone by following some ethical codes. It was during the renaissance when the term ‘humanism’ gained its momentum. To be accurate, humanistic beliefs rely on people as they can form a better society. They can make this earth a better place to live for everyone.

Worshipping, which is often entitled to serving God, is considered a sacred form. We can find some people struggling from poverty, hunger and serious obstacles. As human beings, we can somehow feel bad for them. If we put ourselves in their place, it would be heart wrenching and strenuous for us to even imagine. Now, this feeling puts us to question what we as individuals do for other individuals?

The answer is simple and easy to do, which is to make a humane society for everyone else. The true kind of worship lies in building others with us. It is all about compassion and kindness for people. If we can serve our God then why can’t we serve other human beings, which are also made by God, like us? The purpose of serving our God, be it of any religion, is to make us modest and down to earth. While we thank God for something which we got from him, we can also share our things with those who are in dire need.

E.M. Forster said that “The four characteristics of humanism are curiosity, a free mind, belief in good taste, and belief in the human race.”  A humanistic society demands serving humanity. It is the core idea of it. closer to God when we worship him, we can also be his messenger by serving people who need our help on this earth. The least we can do is to be considerate towards others around us.

Humanism says that everything rotates around the individual. Only we humans, can act and make sense out of it.  We should take charge of the fact that we are born with the power to think and act. Our brains are evolving, we can actually be more empathetic towards others. When we realise the pain and sufferings of others we become wiser. The mystery of God which we are trying to find gets solved and finally, we realise that the true God lies in us. Thus, it is definite that we can serve the people in various ways. It is a thing which is actually a true moment of devotion and serving, to make a humanitarian world.
